Recently John's cousin had a birthday party and I was asked to make him a cake that had to do with Skittles. Skittles is a nickname that my husband and his cousin share and of course Skittles are AWESOME! So after surfing the web I came up with the idea to make it look like a skittles candy bag. It ended up being really simple and of course the great surprise was the multicolored cake inside. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Martha gives a great tutorial here on how to make the rainbow cake: <a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/256688/rainbow-cake" target="_blank">http://www.marthastewart.com/256688/rainbow-cake</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">and here is what the cake turned out like! Love it.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7ays3sz4kCuEYNM__cvpeIh29rVrLHxA4LWDMjeES5fpp67r39mazYmZ_gGnAo4b3zhT4Uspkb-r1DBWvPWfHNJmfSPICEY46ep2MPv3b-VS_ZWUw52xiVo4vGmMokc3Oh3aODDhCM4Dd/s1600/phone+4-2012+342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7ays3sz4kCuEYNM__cvpeIh29rVrLHxA4LWDMjeES5fpp67r39mazYmZ_gGnAo4b3zhT4Uspkb-r1DBWvPWfHNJmfSPICEY46ep2MPv3b-VS_ZWUw52xiVo4vGmMokc3Oh3aODDhCM4Dd/s1600/phone+4-2012+342.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I have been seeing lots of DIY head boards so I finally took the jump and made my own.</div><div style="text-align: center;">It was so simple and I love the look. The best part, it only costs me about 30.00 for everything. Can't beat that!</div><div style="text-align: center;">First I went to Lowe's and had them cut me a board down to 60" x 48", basically just one straight cut. Costing me only 8.00 for the board. (It doesn't really matter what kind of wood you get, as long as its sturdy, and I'm cheap so this worked perfect)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">After I brought it home I drew a few lines and had my very awesome neighbor cut it for me. After that I drilled a few holes for the tufting. I have seen a lot of people do a lot of tufting on their headboards but I have always liked the less is more approach. So I made 8 holes, and measured them out so they were even ( well even enough lol)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">After that I took my foam ( just a foam topper from Walmart, only 12.00)</div><div style="text-align: center;">I sprayed the foam and the board and applied. Then cut it down to size.</div><div style="text-align: center;">After that I wrapped it in batting and stapled. </div><div style="text-align: center;">As soon as I did that I laid the fabric down. ( Some awesome fabric I found at Walmart for only 2.50 a yard, score! I bought 2 1/4 yards) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">after pulling it tight, I stapled it around, making sure I kept it tight and smooth. </div><div style="text-align: center;">I cut down the extras to keep it neat and clean looking on the back.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

So we came up with these cupcakes and black and white decorations. I found the chocolate mold on ebay. I think they turned out really cool. We also made black and white paper flowers, and painted little wooden suitcases for our 'trip' to Paris. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">At our house we eat a lot of chicken. I love how I can buy a large bag and get two meals out of it and chicken is really versatile. I had seen a bacon wrapped chicken on TV one night and decided to try it out. I found this great recipe from Ms. Paula Deen. <a href="http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/sweet-chicken-bacon-wraps-recipe/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/sweet-chicken-bacon-wraps-recipe/index.html</a></div><div style="text-align: center;">This recipe is for a smaller version for appetizers. I decided to make them a little larger and serve them with a side of noodles and a veggie. Let me tell you, SOOO Good! A must try! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhACL9WDtLRpHEI8-NSr4WuJCgdDvufGGBtIAZXFDOgPmSvkIQgcx1f4jspIwd50jYtQd_wa7X6kM6E2QtwWuUc7n_wh7SBCf_ZxjrnXRBvvXLaIuE85ekfLCFalLnrq5hdFn_sZyYOcNDH/s1600/march2012+1444.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhACL9WDtLRpHEI8-NSr4WuJCgdDvufGGBtIAZXFDOgPmSvkIQgcx1f4jspIwd50jYtQd_wa7X6kM6E2QtwWuUc7n_wh7SBCf_ZxjrnXRBvvXLaIuE85ekfLCFalLnrq5hdFn_sZyYOcNDH/s1600/march2012+1444.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here is the recipe: (courtesy of foodnetwork.com)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><h2 class="kv-ingred">Ingredients</h2><ul class="kv-ingred-list1"><li class="ingredient">1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless, <a class="crosslink" href="http://www.foodterms.com/encyclopedia/chicken/index.html">chicken breasts</a> (about 4 breasts)</li>
<li class="ingredient">1 (1-pound) package sliced bacon</li>
<li class="ingredient">2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar</li>
<li class="ingredient">2 tablespoons <a class="crosslink" href="http://www.foodterms.com/encyclopedia/chili-powder/index.html">chili powder</a></li>
</ul><h2>Directions</h2><div class="instructions"> <div class="instruction"> Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.</div>Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes. Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a wooden pick. Stir together <a class="crosslink" href="http://www.foodterms.com/encyclopedia/sugar/index.html">brown sugar</a> and chili powder. Dredge wrapped chicken in mixture. Coat a rack and broiler pan with nonstick <a class="crosslink" href="http://www.foodterms.com/encyclopedia/cooking-spray/index.html">cooking spray</a>. Place chicken wrap on rack in broiler pan. Bake 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until bacon is crisp.<br />
<br />
I also turned up the oven to 400 for the last 10 minutes to crisp the bacon. ( with the larger pieces I used, of course I had a longer cook time) <br />

I am sorry I haven't posted lately. As you know we are building a house and trying to get everything together for the big move. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Here is our house so far! Yea it has begun!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil4FerUNKyLAUMRw8SARUT4w6FgkbSLh28memaBjDOWs_T1iXHzjnBAZoVYTq_azMg-cYcf8mkSfLR2yHBJ9EiIHffBMbIioutL3pC9eqs8Ua-_xNxqmocD3LCpDSzR70ELc0MKoJL1ZHT/s1600/house.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil4FerUNKyLAUMRw8SARUT4w6FgkbSLh28memaBjDOWs_T1iXHzjnBAZoVYTq_azMg-cYcf8mkSfLR2yHBJ9EiIHffBMbIioutL3pC9eqs8Ua-_xNxqmocD3LCpDSzR70ELc0MKoJL1ZHT/s320/house.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So in this crazyiness of packing and preparing to rent our condo. I have found quick meals to be very helpful. I found this reciepe a few months ago. I found it on the back of the Ronzoni Healthy Harvest lasagna noodle box. The best part is it has a lot of healthy ingredients. I even will add turkey meat instead of beef and the heart healthy spagetti sauce. So I just had to share.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQPFEVHg0-z60ZBgJk80E0getQAX7PLTjkvpdJEjTM8sxFqAvNL8xnbXRUUX70h9qa187RRy4rDllumZYiZUM0yWV2xmWkpl-x2FOeKFF3wzNh6yEf2zv13CWdtoDp1_QdpS1dhtIoMBS_/s1600/food+135.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQPFEVHg0-z60ZBgJk80E0getQAX7PLTjkvpdJEjTM8sxFqAvNL8xnbXRUUX70h9qa187RRy4rDllumZYiZUM0yWV2xmWkpl-x2FOeKFF3wzNh6yEf2zv13CWdtoDp1_QdpS1dhtIoMBS_/s1600/food+135.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat, brown meat; drain. Add spaghetti sauce and water; simmer about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, stir together ricotta cheese, one-half mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley, salt and pepper. Pour about 1 cup sauce on bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Arrange 3 ( I used 4 1/2) pasta peices lengthwise over sauce; cover with 1 cup sauce. Spread one-half chees filling over sauce. Repeat layers of lasagna, sauce and cheese filling. Top with layer of lasagna and remaining sauce; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil. Bake 45 minutes. Remove foil; bake additional 10 minutes or until hot and bubbly. </div><div style="text-align: center;">First you take construction paper and cut them into about 2 inch strips.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxFTKEgOFi2SMHImpL0dtpliV4Mhoc-FpYojeXDh_bQbhztVo4FcUlyFIPDWFeTEIlimljmrBIdofGOdQmDtOwKpeIt5LO-nyObeo9BA5IdhSJPBNhmjVVhb1JIWWimb4VGj1dUhBQrEVr/s1600/2-2012+193.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxFTKEgOFi2SMHImpL0dtpliV4Mhoc-FpYojeXDh_bQbhztVo4FcUlyFIPDWFeTEIlimljmrBIdofGOdQmDtOwKpeIt5LO-nyObeo9BA5IdhSJPBNhmjVVhb1JIWWimb4VGj1dUhBQrEVr/s320/2-2012+193.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

She posted a really neat idea about developing fine motor skills through this game. I also loved it because it teaches them to letters and to start the spelling process! My daughter Emily loves it, she often tells me she is getting ready for school when she plays! Too cute</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Here is her link: <a href="http://rubsomedirtblog.com/2012/01/fine-motor-skills-clothespin-style/" target="_blank">http://rubsomedirtblog.com/2012/01/fine-motor-skills-clothespin-style/</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">and here is my version :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHmmdUqQ4UQrxz7OOToEkgizXvR6a4RJRCtkJM6QIXY4lnoJMd1JG3V1XHOOyEkuL5p5wl2V8ZRYiyrRkZTlRJ6jhGnMsk8kv7jXg7qamOecYj71doN6GDVg6MJ1OQjtcsuHGgSrDk4Q23/s1600/phone+1329.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHmmdUqQ4UQrxz7OOToEkgizXvR6a4RJRCtkJM6QIXY4lnoJMd1JG3V1XHOOyEkuL5p5wl2V8ZRYiyrRkZTlRJ6jhGnMsk8kv7jXg7qamOecYj71doN6GDVg6MJ1OQjtcsuHGgSrDk4Q23/s320/phone+1329.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">First I took printed out some simple words out with pictures and put them on cardboard and "laminated" them with tape, cheesy I know but it works really well.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">My daughters love hair things, but we tend to go through a lot of them with three girls wearing them everyday. But hair things cost so much. Luckily we found a cheap very cute way to make some of our own! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">First you need to find some fake flowers, you want to make sure they are bloomed flowers not buds.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Gotta love it, so simple, yet so cute! Of course there are a million ways to jazz these up......more to come :)</div>everydaylife0f5http://www.blogger.com/profile/16913383020219553616noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-602431639249992206.post-77755178761747909842012-01-19T18:59:00.000-08:002012-01-19T18:59:43.788-08:00Homemade French bread<div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKkFgZuCcIu4vWV2KYtD-cDSpSmIUtsoXzL3aZF-InhEbKbDy3EmwgXTeJRdsz8NLJ0z3ZF-FKxbMQvYgSSKDM9jyd2x_eM2Q08c9gCr6AQukjc9jVzc15U5iHrXpQPZIAvQteiMv4su1E/s1600/bread+021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKkFgZuCcIu4vWV2KYtD-cDSpSmIUtsoXzL3aZF-InhEbKbDy3EmwgXTeJRdsz8NLJ0z3ZF-FKxbMQvYgSSKDM9jyd2x_eM2Q08c9gCr6AQukjc9jVzc15U5iHrXpQPZIAvQteiMv4su1E/s1600/bread+021.jpg" /></a></div><br />

<br />
I don't lately I have been wanting french bread, of course I could just go to the store and buy one for a few dollars but what fun would that be. I have been on a major baking kick. So while searching for recipes I found this tutorial on YouTube that is completely awesome!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTY4WJRSzY8" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTY4WJRSzY8</a></div><div style="text-align: center;">He gives you step by step to this very simple technique. Love it!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Here is the recipe:</div><ul style="text-align: center;"><li>1 tablespoon of yeast</li>
<li>warm water</li>
<li> 4 cups of flour</li>
<li>1 tablespoon of salt</li>
</ul><div style="text-align: center;">Yep that's it. The trick to getting a great bread is all in the technique.</div><div style="text-align: center;">First you need to proof your yeast in some warm water, meanwhile combine your flour and salt.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqBWs5zn5ILwn7Yq-qJS_yegvBkwIT2ANrZeSHkOH-xgvEYzVOutTDxCVEe1NTH0CciuybNRYu2e5aEd-ac5N3UEKwWJ0c9_I8o3mMlP1VtBbLIBRd2YPi6A-x0uTW_d1c-TUU_ejXFg28/s1600/bread+001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqBWs5zn5ILwn7Yq-qJS_yegvBkwIT2ANrZeSHkOH-xgvEYzVOutTDxCVEe1NTH0CciuybNRYu2e5aEd-ac5N3UEKwWJ0c9_I8o3mMlP1VtBbLIBRd2YPi6A-x0uTW_d1c-TUU_ejXFg28/s320/bread+001.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Then mix your yeast and flour mixture, water amount varies, you just add enough until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the ball. I used too much water so I all I had to do is add more flour.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifDR7wOXygOII2l-BheTQI27vewPnt2Sx7dtQNM1HtYq0OLPvhkvujQydaQaquF66TGC3fedCNJIUsk1GtqKA16dUgLHgAZNf8qydAuDYz-_cBFitU6iB_wBXSgl6LaUhflZ3EumHtYT1i/s1600/bread+003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifDR7wOXygOII2l-BheTQI27vewPnt2Sx7dtQNM1HtYq0OLPvhkvujQydaQaquF66TGC3fedCNJIUsk1GtqKA16dUgLHgAZNf8qydAuDYz-_cBFitU6iB_wBXSgl6LaUhflZ3EumHtYT1i/s1600/bread+003.jpg" /></a></div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Then you knead the dough into a ball for a few minutes ( the video is a must to watch)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilceXcHIcV6DhPhhyphenhypheniakBbht02C-EsYYoy9Wh84Sx0TahwRyolo4wMBHB23P0tm_7ha-GC1xNOyZ1d4x2XrAIARY_E0SQfE4VNa-cnISiWjssFEJy60GUIv6S-E1jhltzeVlpqfwDtpx3i/s1600/bread+005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilceXcHIcV6DhPhhyphenhypheniakBbht02C-EsYYoy9Wh84Sx0TahwRyolo4wMBHB23P0tm_7ha-GC1xNOyZ1d4x2XrAIARY_E0SQfE4VNa-cnISiWjssFEJy60GUIv6S-E1jhltzeVlpqfwDtpx3i/s320/bread+005.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">then let your dough rest while you wash out your bowl</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Continue to knead into a ball. Place your dough in the bowl and cover with a plastic bag. Very cool tip I must say!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPIxlApAhuLjeI4A5xgDdHUwmTb6y5DQQ8i4B5dciyCbJwzL8hdpO6WevmHJFtsMBgIUHplSxuJQ5K6d1Lv7virXISH_IMTL5slqxlQ6bxcMkszoVrFFjrhwlmaPCadqVAWlSSK4KDLBSw/s1600/bread+007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPIxlApAhuLjeI4A5xgDdHUwmTb6y5DQQ8i4B5dciyCbJwzL8hdpO6WevmHJFtsMBgIUHplSxuJQ5K6d1Lv7virXISH_IMTL5slqxlQ6bxcMkszoVrFFjrhwlmaPCadqVAWlSSK4KDLBSw/s1600/bread+007.jpg" /></a></div><br />

<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">After about two hours you pull your dough out and knead some more, forming them into loaves (again watch video) He has a great technique for forming them into loaves</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUcwykm6SYn58KnvveiA0z-OyirSI1qVOBU3r781I6yRhvj_XfMV5MMHN9-LVh7owo3HktdRlSRlyRW0nMdM01Vpxx01zKRWzzljfhgsEviIUPKneV35AaPvaNAjDDuJfqQ-PqoIGJy4no/s1600/bread+013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUcwykm6SYn58KnvveiA0z-OyirSI1qVOBU3r781I6yRhvj_XfMV5MMHN9-LVh7owo3HktdRlSRlyRW0nMdM01Vpxx01zKRWzzljfhgsEviIUPKneV35AaPvaNAjDDuJfqQ-PqoIGJy4no/s1600/bread+013.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc7nFXGS30AR9GisVAkkAbDv2uM80HH1NKQaSD4kKt6XC8yk_3KbPKdJmy_gwmoFgVL7jAmnEAdLuaNiIcFSxe_FQqsRHu9yfgKXQ1dUs4elRVG6pO-FF8z0l5X9JyWAU1xXcgw6nnlZCj/s1600/bread+015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc7nFXGS30AR9GisVAkkAbDv2uM80HH1NKQaSD4kKt6XC8yk_3KbPKdJmy_gwmoFgVL7jAmnEAdLuaNiIcFSxe_FQqsRHu9yfgKXQ1dUs4elRVG6pO-FF8z0l5X9JyWAU1xXcgw6nnlZCj/s1600/bread+015.jpg" /></a></div><br />
Place on sprayed pan and let rise for another hour and half or there abouts. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDcDzQaU1Ikvygm2N-VxjcRvPC_vRGPS6sdRVTIISy9sYnF4XnA0W1MUbiBE2DzUpefjs1BOLTsFH3qeW9tZZkG14NilMwC-I2U5mfYWwkQhRutmxpfgZMgdXjhh5JGM34efolmFEtnUFT/s1600/bread+018.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDcDzQaU1Ikvygm2N-VxjcRvPC_vRGPS6sdRVTIISy9sYnF4XnA0W1MUbiBE2DzUpefjs1BOLTsFH3qeW9tZZkG14NilMwC-I2U5mfYWwkQhRutmxpfgZMgdXjhh5JGM34efolmFEtnUFT/s1600/bread+018.jpg" /></a></div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">And this is the coolest part......set oven to 400 and place bread in oven, and then throw in a about a 1/2 cup of water on the bottom of your oven to steam the bread. Make sure you turn down your oven to 350 and let bake for about 35 min. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Ta Da! Home made awesome tasting french bread!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKkFgZuCcIu4vWV2KYtD-cDSpSmIUtsoXzL3aZF-InhEbKbDy3EmwgXTeJRdsz8NLJ0z3ZF-FKxbMQvYgSSKDM9jyd2x_eM2Q08c9gCr6AQukjc9jVzc15U5iHrXpQPZIAvQteiMv4su1E/s1600/bread+021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKkFgZuCcIu4vWV2KYtD-cDSpSmIUtsoXzL3aZF-InhEbKbDy3EmwgXTeJRdsz8NLJ0z3ZF-FKxbMQvYgSSKDM9jyd2x_eM2Q08c9gCr6AQukjc9jVzc15U5iHrXpQPZIAvQteiMv4su1E/s1600/bread+021.jpg" /></a></div>Mine didn't brown hardly and didn't rise quit right, but I think its because I added too much flour, but let me tell you looks are deceiving because it tasted so good! I am going to have to try this again for sure!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
I love anything that has words on it, especially the distressed boards. But years ago I fell in love with these letter blocks that my good friend Hathir, she now does amazing bows and you have to check out her work....so cute!!<a href="https://www.facebook.com/daissjrs" target="_blank">https://www.facebook.com/daissjrs</a> . Anyhow she had these blocks in her living room that were huge and you could arrange them to say different things. At the time they said merry Christmas. They were so cute and I finally decided to make myself some. I had planned on making these last month but I was so slack. So yes a month after Christmas they are done. What can I say, I am early for the next Christmas! Though having a bit of blocks left, I ended up doing more! Love it!<br />
<br />
<br />
So I have an awesome neighbor and best friends. And they so kindly made me these blocks. First her husband took 2 2x4 boards and cut them to 3 and something (2x4 aren't truly 4 inches) then he took two pieces and glued and nailed them together. Yea I have awesome friends! So these are the blocks I ended up with. Buying square blocks were way to expensive, especially if you want to go larger than a 2x2. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIWrF-_L8grMptmLoG2uLT1KA9kZZ4KNrrGQ1qtQ6x1b3zDKPJZIyvnxyBEMPkxRs-M8cyfVbe4KPX26hX_XqeIejKNtqhSm67JRSoSZFyA_J6s_Vn-o1948_UhJFRXOmltPkMup-XhkKR/s1600/more+stuff+012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIWrF-_L8grMptmLoG2uLT1KA9kZZ4KNrrGQ1qtQ6x1b3zDKPJZIyvnxyBEMPkxRs-M8cyfVbe4KPX26hX_XqeIejKNtqhSm67JRSoSZFyA_J6s_Vn-o1948_UhJFRXOmltPkMup-XhkKR/s320/more+stuff+012.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Next I took wood filler and filled in the cracks and holes. I wasn't too worried about filling everything since I will be distressing them later on. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Next I painted them my base color. This is the color you are going to want your letters to be.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFmg1x6r72rLqfbYvWiSe5FzQu1_MzWUw6nxTByANOe95Wz2d2F2i7O6hleMnIWmEJFZ4es16I032CYwWx5MJ9KoUQfstVNU6f7Q3zdvnB3dX12Jy-tGeHrQ-asHjZ7UT9ybKS31TNG3aV/s1600/more+stuff+028.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFmg1x6r72rLqfbYvWiSe5FzQu1_MzWUw6nxTByANOe95Wz2d2F2i7O6hleMnIWmEJFZ4es16I032CYwWx5MJ9KoUQfstVNU6f7Q3zdvnB3dX12Jy-tGeHrQ-asHjZ7UT9ybKS31TNG3aV/s1600/more+stuff+028.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
Sorry my pictures are lame, my phone wasn't working with me and it was night time.......bad combo<br />
These are for the Christmas blocks <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6m_15ScNDi_PwKyZ6xO9Yrec7v-3FXIR_TYUOahSeYyPP1Um3B3zefpWYQ7cSDc8RvqVbbZxUFRbfYNXYK0fX7vvKUr8lnnZAHeb38PqlLPIv6JZP5ceGUjOj9TLXqrVAJSoRMGYHGciK/s1600/blocks2+001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6m_15ScNDi_PwKyZ6xO9Yrec7v-3FXIR_TYUOahSeYyPP1Um3B3zefpWYQ7cSDc8RvqVbbZxUFRbfYNXYK0fX7vvKUr8lnnZAHeb38PqlLPIv6JZP5ceGUjOj9TLXqrVAJSoRMGYHGciK/s1600/blocks2+001.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
Also you only need to paint your base color/ the color you want your wording where your letter is going.<br />
<br />
These are acutally painted an off white for the other blocks<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCmI5mbEiuYQ5zFAf9560KX-FchF-0K6UmVkmEkMs2PFt8561oLxXL5ydo3B1fUThqqrbAGyovdGC8njxwRjhS_rPAeTU3z4-fJrXor-s1mhjgbZ4kOImDwwWy7rcUtHV_BTkByQna-FDe/s1600/blocks2+003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCmI5mbEiuYQ5zFAf9560KX-FchF-0K6UmVkmEkMs2PFt8561oLxXL5ydo3B1fUThqqrbAGyovdGC8njxwRjhS_rPAeTU3z4-fJrXor-s1mhjgbZ4kOImDwwWy7rcUtHV_BTkByQna-FDe/s1600/blocks2+003.jpg" /></a></div><br />
Next you need to put your letters on. I used a circuit machine and cut out my letters. Since my blocks were almost 4 square I cut my letters out to be 3 1/2 inches tall. After placing your letters make sure you rub them on really well. Then paint. I chose a red because of Christmas<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKVsTbdBrwwMQcRdzlyeE9mu29WMF_CAb9D6aE848vruWmmt153-xBx5IUZxlULbiFxdGtRmetk66fQsnYGrt7w4ELYmILtY6-9_Zct9i_v9V9zqg9i9iP568iyLXsm8ioIv8QD3KBzS3o/s1600/more+stuff+032.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKVsTbdBrwwMQcRdzlyeE9mu29WMF_CAb9D6aE848vruWmmt153-xBx5IUZxlULbiFxdGtRmetk66fQsnYGrt7w4ELYmILtY6-9_Zct9i_v9V9zqg9i9iP568iyLXsm8ioIv8QD3KBzS3o/s1600/more+stuff+032.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNkNKmH-ZK8buB1kzcAWfJh_Zfol2I1CRhfvuJI0GJu7Cf7Pl4fRuGXx0ZcKjNi8iN1Q81kzQ5vGheaP_HKbGuK-zl-CJ1aP4Qt4_ncXhWNbkmDAFNPQebyNcekl-DVLLYsbiM_DE_gXZi/s1600/more+stuff+036.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNkNKmH-ZK8buB1kzcAWfJh_Zfol2I1CRhfvuJI0GJu7Cf7Pl4fRuGXx0ZcKjNi8iN1Q81kzQ5vGheaP_HKbGuK-zl-CJ1aP4Qt4_ncXhWNbkmDAFNPQebyNcekl-DVLLYsbiM_DE_gXZi/s320/more+stuff+036.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
After they dry you can peel off the letters and distress. I took sand paper and sanded the edges. I really love the warn look that it gives them. Here is a picture of them before and after distressing.<br />
<br />

So of course we had to throw her a bridal shower. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">Here are just a few things I did :)</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">Her theme: Princess</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">Colors: Hot pink, Silver, and Black</span></div><div style="text-align: center;">Idea: a small get together, with food, games, and presents </div><div style="text-align: center;">My sister-in-law Danielle is not big on cake so instead of cake we did brownies and made her a towel cake.</div><div style="text-align: center;">There are a lot of great ideas for these cakes all over the Internet. They are super easy to make and can be so cute. Here is what I did.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-1eM-NKoGZO2ErNNK58TGHr9-zd5dS05MS0-LZnBgSF_drjJI5AY9ZylWo4_075m5ipyG-b6gRQmZHpbs8W9o-t9CU0I89zdE7kgLw_HyX_IxobjX_hfwuvdauj_si3QpP1vmwewpCtpt/s1600/phonesept2011+065.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-1eM-NKoGZO2ErNNK58TGHr9-zd5dS05MS0-LZnBgSF_drjJI5AY9ZylWo4_075m5ipyG-b6gRQmZHpbs8W9o-t9CU0I89zdE7kgLw_HyX_IxobjX_hfwuvdauj_si3QpP1vmwewpCtpt/s1600/phonesept2011+065.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;">It is super easy and this is what you do:</div><div style="text-align: center;">First you will need a few towels and a few hand towels.<br />
I checked out a few tutorials I found online. This is a pretty good one:<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r51gKlARQbI" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r51gKlARQbI</a> <br />
<br />
For the finishing touches I wrapped it in ribbon and used pearl head pins around the ribbon to hold it in place and add decorative accents.<br />
<br />
For favors we decided to give away rings in a box. I don't have a picture of the finished product with the tag, but it said:<br />
Will you marry me?<br />
Bride and grooms name and date<br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu72RRcXfSYwua-jjAMWAoMlvAAYnPTAYvYU9bUDJado4fKZ-_-OtYNMVgFef3kfWhHAXqWGAWMh9M7PqAlolNvaghJgIBsCngeO1BCL5sevxP5-5WBypaR7bjYqmHlvoOvLeUSXZnv-7u/s1600/oct2011phone+049.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu72RRcXfSYwua-jjAMWAoMlvAAYnPTAYvYU9bUDJado4fKZ-_-OtYNMVgFef3kfWhHAXqWGAWMh9M7PqAlolNvaghJgIBsCngeO1BCL5sevxP5-5WBypaR7bjYqmHlvoOvLeUSXZnv-7u/s320/oct2011phone+049.jpg" width="240" /></a></div> I found these boxes at Micheals crafts<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDmqT4GGirJdc8B2OYo_YA9RXT8D-6MKohtwM2fIx_Pek33JWVVD8PTZkzQP2XLVJILE2PlzkmdPbe6XlJZNZ09TkBdrsurzoT4T2OD7GUoAbzECxDFChv8tJ5oOoSP5lI7bX4kzpi83fQ/s1600/oct2011phone+028.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDmqT4GGirJdc8B2OYo_YA9RXT8D-6MKohtwM2fIx_Pek33JWVVD8PTZkzQP2XLVJILE2PlzkmdPbe6XlJZNZ09TkBdrsurzoT4T2OD7GUoAbzECxDFChv8tJ5oOoSP5lI7bX4kzpi83fQ/s320/oct2011phone+028.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Then I took ring pops and shrink wrapped them, then added a little shredded paper. I loved the idea!<br />
With lots of finger food, hot pink plates and matching decorations. Then games such as toilet paper bride. I think she had a great time <3 </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

But our fridge was getting a little full and since they are always drawing new things I came up with a board that can display there art and also can be easily changed. </div><div style="text-align: center;">This is what I came up with</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEpbKKyAzvlIi72mHdkfkhScv9s2Ib4kpJiuIogSvpPZOLcRQCob4xOSSDCmMkQgU75TJCysmV7VsL3QsW_Vfscn7wnMT9ek-I5FZzbQgPF30EoBP9voBZfNDS15VMX0BF-BygrraL6Qnx/s1600/blog+014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEpbKKyAzvlIi72mHdkfkhScv9s2Ib4kpJiuIogSvpPZOLcRQCob4xOSSDCmMkQgU75TJCysmV7VsL3QsW_Vfscn7wnMT9ek-I5FZzbQgPF30EoBP9voBZfNDS15VMX0BF-BygrraL6Qnx/s1600/blog+014.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="color: red;">Art display board</span></span></td></tr>
</tbody></table><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Here is what I did:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">First I took an old board that I had laying around and painted it black. And of course I had to distress it. So I sanded down the sides and scuffed it up a bit.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Second I found these neat clips at Walmart. They have holes in the top that are just perfect for a screw. So I screwed them into the board. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic2OhLk9suqEBc13XKhXiGZaA-Zn_awN7PV3Ovat5nfkBV-9jzZpCC7ogHRMmthU83qRx5mIFMK0BFAUixo-BW5m_UnBXLxqs_GzhzWYzJeQpBY2D_MfRbx7woAdJDwh6Q9AWN1IG3DSV5/s1600/blog+015.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic2OhLk9suqEBc13XKhXiGZaA-Zn_awN7PV3Ovat5nfkBV-9jzZpCC7ogHRMmthU83qRx5mIFMK0BFAUixo-BW5m_UnBXLxqs_GzhzWYzJeQpBY2D_MfRbx7woAdJDwh6Q9AWN1IG3DSV5/s1600/blog+015.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7bKajiE8CkrjBvKNKakKAOiv5wPaETPTpIgg-6riSFYW3AnZ_sAlZq5cX5moaJ50K6FMaBtcpRtf-WFB1xajFTtVrAaYbwHFC0ATDJQ_DvW05TkoBvhoK4fb7hyVDFesC0XFTdNuvpzKs/s1600/blog+018.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7bKajiE8CkrjBvKNKakKAOiv5wPaETPTpIgg-6riSFYW3AnZ_sAlZq5cX5moaJ50K6FMaBtcpRtf-WFB1xajFTtVrAaYbwHFC0ATDJQ_DvW05TkoBvhoK4fb7hyVDFesC0XFTdNuvpzKs/s320/blog+018.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
Last, I put picture hangers on the back, I placed two so it was more stable and didn't swing when we replaced the art work.</div><div style="text-align: center;">That simple. Now My kids can hang there are and have it nicely displayed in the hallway.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: red;">Love it!</span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYIZi1hJFleMhtavfKRag8kM2h3fCcq10O6yW4sDiCo1TnzFXxm_isHiCCys-YPM-ivdbkA2oO5EWlMwug2m9mTkrbY6j4Lsx3zzrtPtWs23BM8qJUNFXWKYWy7I-_Oe-4RBv_6TIb9YT9/s1600/blog+020.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYIZi1hJFleMhtavfKRag8kM2h3fCcq10O6yW4sDiCo1TnzFXxm_isHiCCys-YPM-ivdbkA2oO5EWlMwug2m9mTkrbY6j4Lsx3zzrtPtWs23BM8qJUNFXWKYWy7I-_Oe-4RBv_6TIb9YT9/s1600/blog+020.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I love to put up family pictures, but I wanted something to show our personality and really display our fun side. So I came up with our 'Wall of fun'</span></div><div style="color: black; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">Here is what I did. </span></div><div style="color: black; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="color: black; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">First:</span></div><div style="color: black; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></div><div style="color: black; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">I had each of us take funny, unique pictures</span></div><div style="color: black; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: black; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">After printing them out, I found these awesome frames for only 3.00 at Walmart of course. Not bad considering they came with a matt. I really liked the idea of having them symmetrical. But due to the fact that there is only 7 of us I needed something to make it an even 8. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: black; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">So this is what I came up with:</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: black; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">Our last name drawn and then in black going through it, it says "families are forever" Since we didn't have any ink at the time for our printer and I was too impatient to wait. <br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">When my son turned one I wanted to do something really unique. I just love getting our family and friends together, especially for a cook out. At the time I was big into sock monkeys. He had one and loved it. So to the Internet I went! </div><div style="text-align: center;">I came across one of my favorite blogs by Angela Yosten: <a href="http://blog.angelayosten.com/2009/11/sock-monkey-shirt-tutorial.html" target="_blank">http://blog.angelayosten.com/2009/11/sock-monkey-shirt-tutorial.html </a></div><div style="text-align: center;">and of course I had to make one or two, the are way too cute! Plus they went perfect with the theme I was going for! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"> So it began! I wasn't able to find the true sock money socks, so I found some socks in the men's section that had the same patterned heel and toe as the "sock money socks". The were so easy to make, and of course Angela's tutorial made it super easy! Here are the shirts that I made :)<br />
<br />
<div style="color: red;"><span style="font-size: large;">Party Shirts</span></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAUlrP9LOgJNrwECmCre40vP8veVx2RQbS30CLAzjDtOtJypgQjhuPkgGEaEltpi92p0F1h6zALC7qxR4xeZArLKcTkW1bl74HGzHfQ6s5-QwBQOY64zYPXwoEiLJclYQws8vyopHiTL0x/s1600/72284_449137864333_705389333_5059813_2709991_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAUlrP9LOgJNrwECmCre40vP8veVx2RQbS30CLAzjDtOtJypgQjhuPkgGEaEltpi92p0F1h6zALC7qxR4xeZArLKcTkW1bl74HGzHfQ6s5-QwBQOY64zYPXwoEiLJclYQws8vyopHiTL0x/s320/72284_449137864333_705389333_5059813_2709991_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />

So I saw these delicious pretzel bites on <a href="http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/homemade-soft-pretzel-bites/print/" target="_blank">http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/homemade-soft-pretzel-bites/print/</a> and I had to try.<br />
<br />
<span class="item"> </span><br />
<h2 class="fn">Homemade Soft Pretzel Bites</h2><br />
<h3>Ingredients:</h3>Soft Pretzels:<br />
1 1/2 cups warm water<br />
2 tablespoons light brown sugar<br />
1 package active dry yeast<br />
3 ounces unsalted butter, melted<br />
2 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt<br />
4 1/2 to 5 cups all-purpose flour<br />
Vegetable oil<br />
3 quarts water<br />
3/4 cup baking soda<br />
1 whole egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon cold water<br />
Coarse sea salt<br />
<br />
<h3>Directions:</h3>For the Pretzels: Combine the water, sugar, yeast, and butter in the bowl of a stand mixer and mix with the dough hook until combined. Let sit for 5 minutes.<br />
Add the salt and flour and mix on low speed until combined. Increase the speed to medium and continue kneading until the dough is smooth and begins to pull away from the side of the bowl, about 3 to 4 minutes. If the dough appears too wet, add additional flour, 1 tablespoon at a time. Remove the dough from the bowl, place on a flat surface and knead into a ball with your hands.<br />
Oil a bowl with vegetable oil, add the dough and turn to coat with the oil. Cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap and place in a warm spot until the dough doubles in size, about 1 hour.<br />
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.<br />
Bring the water to a boil in a small roasting pan over high heat and add the baking soda.<br />
Remove the dough from the bowl and place on a flat surface. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, about 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 ounces each. Roll each piece into a long rope measuring 22 inches and shape. Cut the dough into one inch pieces to make the pretzel bites. Boil the pretzel bites in the water solution in batches. We did about 15 bites at a time. Boil for about 30 seconds. Remove with a large slotted spoon. Place pretzel bites on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Make sure they are not touching. Brush the tops with the egg wash and season liberally with the salt. Place into the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.<br />
Remove to a baking rack and let rest 5 minutes before eating. Serve with cheese sauce.<br />

Have you heard of Redneck wine glasses? I actually had never heard of them until a few months ago when someone had mentioned them. Looking them up there are all kinds and so many awesome ideas on how to decorate them. I have seen them online and in stores from about $13.00 to about $20.00 a piece. They are cool but I was thinking to myself......not that cool! After doing a little research I found several ideas on how to make them. Here is my version for about $2.50!! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHpEy-fAldKVDYIZV2_0fjvoTM3gFuoFKrajPEai5ab6VCAEu7me1QXZvnvfUgDF5kTAuluqDdibmUM3roA39kaOoDjN16N09GPDYFsF9C_0IFxPgb9mlT-eaByrog06ZKb-FF8Gr8xZX-/s1600/projects1-12+020.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHpEy-fAldKVDYIZV2_0fjvoTM3gFuoFKrajPEai5ab6VCAEu7me1QXZvnvfUgDF5kTAuluqDdibmUM3roA39kaOoDjN16N09GPDYFsF9C_0IFxPgb9mlT-eaByrog06ZKb-FF8Gr8xZX-/s320/projects1-12+020.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">First: you start with a good old fashioned mason jar, the wide mouth ones tend to be better and you want to use the smaller ones.</span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">Second: you need to take your base, I used candlestick holders Dollar General. <tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">Third: and final, you need to glue them together. I used E-6000. Its made for glass and I have found it to work pretty good. Make sure you glue both pieces and wait a minute or two before you put them together. Even sanding the glass slightly will help them adhere better. </span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And that is it! You have a yourself a Redneck Wine Glass! Simple and cheap! Make sure you hand wash them. I have not yet tried to throw them in the dishwasher, but you never know.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now after making myself a few glasses and some Christmas presents :) I had glue left and decided to venture further with the glass glue! I have often wanted to make a cake plate. So off the Dollar General I went! This is what I found:<br />
